Joel is passionate about connecting with the LGBT outdoor community. He loves to travel and is not shy about trying new adventures. His day job is all about project management but his passion lies in his side hustle teaching and practicing Yoga and Pilates. He has cultivated his passion for over 12 years and cherishes when a community flourishes when we connect with each other through movement and intention. Joel is excited for setting up events like hiking, horseback riding, climbing, gnocchi nights, Yoga and exploring the Dallas culture.

Jacob is one of our original LGBT Outdoors Ambassadors. Living in the Houston suburbs, Jacob is deeply passionate about sharing his love for all things outdoors. Watch out, Katniss! He’s an ace with a bow and arrow and his archery workshops have been a crowd favorite at the the Texas LGBT Outdoorfests in 2021 and 2022.

DUSTIN LARSEN

West Columbia, Texas

Growing up as a kid in a rural area on the Gulf coast, I spent a lot of time in ditches catching frogs, crawdads, and chasing down grass snakes - more than most other kids my age.

That interest in animals drove me to love the environment they lived in. I was fascinated by each ecosystem and how everything was connected and intertwined.

As a teenager, I often wondered how I fit into society being gay while having the interests I did. Now, as an adult, my desire is to help build an “ecosystem” of sorts, a community of people that respects and enjoys each other and the world around them. I don’t ever want someone to feel like they don’t belong.

In my free time I enjoy hiking, hanging out at the beach, learning about the local wildlife, and spending time around a campfire with good friends having great conversations. My love of animals never went away and I now love my work with exotic mammals and raising snakes.

ROBYN TACKITT

Growing up in NE Texas, the outdoors was always my second home. I enjoyed camping and backpacking the back country to fly fishing every chance I could. Living in Colorado has been a dream come true to have nature, rivers and trails all around. As many others in the LGBT community, I felt like I was one of so few who loved the outdoors. LGBT Outdoors was the answer to everything I question and desired while finding a community of like-minded individuals. I am looking forward to helping LGBT Outdoors build a fun and safe community where all feel welcome and included.

KIMBER WARREN

I’m Kimber although a lot of folks call me Jinx (she/they). I’m a very out and open trans person with a deep love for nature and all things plant related. I’m currently bit by the running bug, but I have experience in hiking, cycling, kayaking, backpacking, and every once in awhile I’ll play a few rounds of disk golf so I can remind myself how bad I am at it. I’m an open book and I love sharing what I know, I look forward to the adventures to come!
